Rally Software's stock rallies after IPO

On Friday, enterprise software firm Rally Software raised $84 million in an initial public offering (IPO) and saw its shares jump more than 28 percent in its first hour of trading.

The firm offered 6 million shares of common stock priced at $14 per share for the IPO. The stock price then jumped to $18 per share in the first hour of trading, reached a high of $18.25, then closed at $17.96 per share on Friday.

Rally, which provides cloud-based Agile project management software to enterprises, had expected to raise only $70 million through the IPO, according to an S-1 form filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission in March.
