Mob City: Using Twitter to Prove It’s Worth It

Frank Darabont, the director of “The Mist” and “The Shawshank Redemption”, is at it again, captivating audiences with TNT’s TV event, Mob City. The show, set in the 1940’s, follows LA mobsters and captures the noir period.

For the highly anticipated TV event, Deutsch NY and TNT wanted to do something different, fun and engaging that allowed the audience to get involved before the pilot aired. Unfolding the script through hundreds of tweets, fans had a chance to indulge in the first episode’s plot and participate in the conversation on Twitter and through mobscript.com. Collectively, Deutsch, TNT, and Wayin were able to deliver a unique social experience that has Mob City fans talking.

What was the ask?

Before the season premiere, TNT turned to Twitter to generate excitement and grow a large loyal audience for the season premiere of Mob City. Their goal was to create a living and easily accessible “time capsule” of tweets that collectively become the script of the show’s pilot.
