Next-generation cable company Layer3 TV is leaving behind its hometown of Boston to permanently set up shop in LoDo this summer. The company will create about 312 new, fulltime jobs with an average wage of $92,083.

Layer3 TV is backed with $21 million from North Bridge Venture Partners and Evolution Media Growth Partners, and will be further helped along with nearly $3 million from the State of Colorado in job growth incentive fund tax credits, according to a press statement.

"Layer3 TV's decision to move its headquarters to LoDo is the latest in a growing trend of innovative start-ups that have chosen Colorado as the best place to expand their business,” Governor John Hickenlooper said in a statement.

The company reportedly picked Denver for its new headquarters because of its talent pool and quality of life: “Layer3 TV is excited to open our corporate headquarters in Denver and to become part of the thriving Colorado eco-system of innovators in both telecommunications and entertainment,” co-founder and CEO Jeff Binder said in the statement. “We look forward to benefiting from the tremendous talent pool here and becoming a contributor to the Colorado economy.”
