GutCheck CEO Matt Warta said that the funding will allow for the growth of the 20-person company through expansion of its engineering team, online research strategy team and sales and marketing team: “We are hiring and we are hiring in all positions.”
The funding round had been in the works since the company’s impressive growth last year, Warta said, which spurred quarterly meetings and an ongoing relationship with Joseph R. Zell of Grotech Ventures.
“We started to see a lot of growth in the first year and we knew we needed to capitalize on that opportunity sooner rather than later,” Warta said.
In addition to the excitement of new funding and new hires, GutCheck has an international release coming out in July or August. The international release will push the product beyond the barriers of English language, a necessity since all of GutCheck’s customers are global (like P&G and Subway, for example).
“The international release was an insight that we’ve had for a while now and we’ve been working on it diligently,” Warta said.
As GutCheck’s product expands internationally and its team expands locally, the company continues to stand out by providing consumer insights to marketers and researchers in record time through its instant research communities and real-time in-depth interviews. Warta said he will continue to prioritize this deep, fast growth through the rest of 2013 and beyond: “We will continue to grow what we’ve been doing and really build out every part of the organization.”
