The 5 W's of Wishlist

For years as a young child you were asked to identify the 5 W’s of each story you read or wrote in English class. This technique is supposed to simplify a concept or story. So that’s what we are doing here, breaking it down. Here is your Wishlist guide to everything you need to know: who, what, when, where and most importantly, why.

Who: Wishlist is comprised of hard working and fun loving individuals that share in the belief that experiences make much better gifts than things. The Wishlist team is well traveled, with an expansive view of what the world has to offer. Colorado has become home to staff from Minnesota, Maryland, Germany, and Portugal.

What: Wishlist is an experiential gifting service. Wishlists are broken into 6 categories: Urban Living, Fitness, Adventure, Getaways, Relaxation, and Adrenaline. Each theme coincides with diverse experiences provided on each list. We work with local vendors to create unique offers that retail at the set price for each category. Some vendors offer multiple experiences, and provide the opportunity for the recipient to bring along a friend. We continue to add new experiences to each Wishlist, as well as new Wishlist categories.

When: Wishlists make for great gifts, any time of the year! Each Wishlist has experiences that would be enjoyable in summer, fall, winter and spring. They make great gifts for your loved ones on birthdays and holidays. They also make great celebratory gifts for weddings and graduations.

Companies also benefit from using Wishlists as employee rewards. Employees with company driven incentive programs tend to feel happier, more valued, motivated and loyal to their company. Wishlists make an ideal gift for birthdays, anniversaries and/or performance-based rewards.

Where: Wishlist is based in the heart of Boulder.  You can track down Wishlist staffers working out of The Hub, which is an impact driven, co-working space, right off the ever-so-popular Pearl Street Mall. As far as the experiences go, you can find them all over the state. While offers in Boulder, Denver and Colorado Springs are most prominent, you can find offers in some of the smallest and most unique towns in Colorado. Offers span from the Rockies to downtown to state lines, and everywhere in between.

Why: Because experiences make people happy. New experiences often push people outside of their comfort zones. We can get so caught up in our daily routine that sometimes we forget the importance of trying new things. We can get too comfortable with where we are. Trying something new allows you to grow as a person. It provides you the opportunity to meet new people and find new things that may interest you.

Let’s face it; finding the perfect gift is tough. “Stuff” becomes clutter, and looking for the perfect gift becomes time consuming. Wishlists are much more personalized than your average gift card. While both options allow the recipient flexibility in selecting what they would like, you will resonate in the memories they create with Wishlist. Do you remember what you bought with that gift card you got for your birthday last year? Let alone, who got it for you? Probably not!

Do you still have questions about the concept behind Wishlist, or how to go about purchasing one for your friend or loved one? Don’t hesitate to contact us! You can reach Wishlist via phone or email, or by connecting with us on our Facebook and Twitter.
