Stateless awarded National Science Foundation grant for Software Defined Interconnect

Stateless won a National Science Foundation award this week for its advancements in Software-Defined Interconnect technology, which aim to reimagine network connectivity in the age of hybrid clouds and colocation providers. Born from its founders’ research at the University of Colorado Boulder, Stateless will use the $750,000 equity-free grant to further its research and development efforts. The grant is part of the Foundation’s Small Business Innovation Research program and is the second such grant the company has been awarded in recent years. [Read more.]

FoodMaven launches sustainability initiative for local hospitality businesses

Colorado Springs-based FoodMaven announced its latest initiative to reduce food waste and redistribute oversupplied, out-of-spec or locally produced foods. The company will partner with local hospitality businesses — including DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel-Westminster, Hilton Denver City Center and Hilton Stapleton North — to help them source local, sustainable food products through FoodMaven’s already established supply chain. The company will offer the partnership program to businesses in Colorado and Texas — the only two markets it currently serves — with plans to expand the program as FoodMaven launches in new markets. Shotzr $3M Seed funding round Colorado

Stock photography startup Shotzr lands $3M seed to elevate digital marketing

Denver-based Shotzr, whose marketing imagery platform aims to be a more effective and targeted alternative to stock photo sites, raised $3 million in fresh seed funding this week. The round was led by Access Venture Partners with participation from DVI Equity Partners, Blue Note Ventures, First Mile Ventures, Spring Time Ventures and RVC. As part of the deal, Brian Wallace, the managing director of Access Venture Partners, will join Shotzr’s board of directors. The funding will help accelerate the enhancement of Shotzr’s products and enable the startup, which recently appeared on Built In Colorado’s 50 Startup to Watch list, to build out more channel integrations for its customers. ANGI Homeservices brings on Shannon Shaw as chief legal officer

ANGI Homeservices, the parent company of HomeAdvisor, announced the appointment of Shannon Shaw to its C-suite this week in the role of chief legal officer. Shaw will oversee legal, compliance and human resources efforts across Angie’s List, HomeAdvisor and Handy. She previously served as the chief legal officer for Angie’s List, joining the ANGI Homeservices team following its acquisition of Angie’s List and playing a critical role in the success of the transition. She’ll report to ANGI Homeservices CEO Brandon Ridenour. [Read more.]
