This company gives every employee a golden ticket to anywhere in the world

If you had a Golden Ticket to anywhere in the world, where would you go? Amazingly, that is not a hypothetical question for employees at .

"I don't see my relatives very often, so I chose to go to Taiwan and celebrate Chinese New Year with them,” Steffi Wu, who works on the Marketing Team at Gusto said. “Then, my boyfriend and I went to Thailand for the first time – this photo is of our day playing with elephants in Chiang Mai. I was so happy that Gusto gave me the opportunity to enjoy time with family and go on a new adventure, too."

Gusto employees are probably Colorado's most lavishly perked employees. If you thought you were doing well with generous 401k contributions and a kegerator, Gusto's approach will blow your mind.

“Here at Gusto, our values drive the employee benefits we offer. We strive to provide meaningful “Purpose Driven Benefits” that go above and beyond traditional, foundational benefits like health care," Jessica Yuen, Head of the People Team at Gusto said. "These benefits tie uniquely to our culture and each one represents part of what we stand for as a community, how we interact and the way we work, as we scale.”

Take the company’s Golden Ticket perk, for example. On every employees' first and fifth anniversaries, they receive a roundtrip ticket to anywhere in the world. That offer expires after one year, giving the employee an incentive to actually use it. On an employee's fifth anniversary they also receive a month of paid sabbatical.

“Personal travel is an incredible way to explore and grow as a person," Yuen said. "We want everyone on our team to take time off, step away from daily life, and come back with a fresh perspective. If it makes us better people, we'll be better teammates, too.”

The company’s perks don’t end with the Golden Ticket either. On their second, third and fourth anniversaries employees receive $500 to spend on an experience — that can be anything from bungee jumping to a day spa. It's like having a deep pocketed, adventurous friend that drags you along to do things you'd never do on your own.

“We trust everyone to make personal decisions about when to take time off. Everyone on the team is an owner of the business, and we all understand that the more we invest in the business, the more successful it will be,” Yuen said. “At the same time, it is equally important for us to rest, recharge, and spend time with family and friends.”

How very, very true.
