The Senior Manager, GMD Plans and Integration, will support the Ground-based Mid-course Defense (GMD) Ops & Sustainment team as a part of Boeing Global Services (BGS) Global Technical Operations team . This leader will lead a geographically diverse team of first line managers and planning/integration professionals, insuring that program objectives are met. This leader will need excellent communication, program management and relationship skills to interface daily with the Boeing Defense Space and Security (BDS) program leadership, contractor partners and the military customer. This is a great opportunity to join a high-performing team in support of a critical national defense mission. Position is located in Colorado Springs, CO.
This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.
Position Responsibilities:

  • Lead the Ground-based Mid-course Defense planning and integration teams, ensuring program and O&S IPT objectives are met.
  • Manages/develops employees and mid-level managers executing/performing three functions critical to program success: Planning, Integration and Training & exercises
  • Establishes/Maintains an organizational culture that prioritizes safety, quality and integrity, across all the deployed/remote GMD sites
  • Establishes/maintains an organization compliant with requirements defined in the SOW, Program/IPT command media
  • Develops and executes integrated organizational plans, policies and procedures to guide the development of business and technical strategies, goals, objectives in support of the Operations & Sustainment director's guidance.
  • Develops and maintains relationships and partnerships with the GMD customers, IPT peers, sub-contractors, and site leadership
  • Provides program management/technical direction in dynamic operationally focused environment leveraging GMD technical knowledge and Program Management Best Practices.
  • Directs teams providing 24/7/365 insight and reporting of GMD assets and infrastructure in Alaska, California, Colorado, United Kingdom, Greenland, and the BOA.
  • Directs teams providing the management and execution of GMD STO environments, program security and logistics support.
  • Directs teams providing the GMD training both warfighter and industry, and exercise integration, planning and support.
  • Acquires resources for organizational activities, provides technical management of suppliers and leads process improvements.
  • Coordinates test activities and execution with government agencies using supporting GMD assets.
  • Requires 25% Travel


This position requires an active U.S. Secret Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required). (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active)
Basic Qualifications (Required Skill/Experience) :

  • 5+ years of experience leading multiple functional areas in system operations or integration
  • 5+ years of experience of Operational leadership with an emphasis on integrated problem-solving skills.
  • 5+ years of experience leading/managing a diverse team at geographically separated sites across multiple time zones in a fast-paced operations environment.
  • Exceptional capacity to maintain positive relations with internal and external customers.


Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience) :

  • Proven communicator, provide both up and down organizational communications in a dynamic and changing environment while developing solutions to complex problems
  • Short- and long-term planning and scheduling skills involving testing, upgrades, operational requirements, and continuous replanning due to real-word events.
  • Upholding safety standards and demonstrating proactive safety culture leadership.
  • GMD experience and system knowledge.
  • MDS Asset management experience.
  • MDS Program integration experience.
  • GMD Training and exercise development/execution.
  • Earned Value Management experience.
