Vice President of Technology
Do you have a passion for leading high caliber tech teams in a growth stage organization? Zen Planner is looking for a VP of Technology to lead teams of developers, infrastructure, product and design, and will report directly to the CTO. Successful candidates will be a strong leader who can prioritize well, be detail oriented, exude passion that is aligned with our values, and thrive on creating leading products.
Responsibilities:
• Manage and grow an existing high performance product development organization within an Agile environment
• Provide hands-on leadership and mentorship of Manager to Director level leaders in Product, Engineering, Architecture and Infrastructure
• Chose appropriate technology to grow relability, usability and scalability of technology and product
• Ability to dive deep into the technology, and have the vision to balance strategic technology needs with business and customer needs
• Guide innovative product strategy and direction for the team to meet customer and market needs, drive the evolution of the systems architecture
• Support and drive a design-focused culture through the entire organization
• Effectively communicate to and align organization around technology and product advancements
• Grow culture, refine recruiting strategies based on business need and create the best engineering organization in the market
• Partner with President to analyze and provide support to M&A initiatives
• Set and manage technology and resource budgets
• Set and manage performance expectations, communicate and lead team to execute goals within timelines.
• Strong business sense to contribute as part of the Leadership Team. Must currently be leading a development team on a SaaS product
Experience
• History of strong leadership and driving change with the ability to maintain collaborative culture and build team loyalty.
• Experience managing a team in a SaaS organization
• Ability to communicate and work effectively with non-technical stake-holders
• 7+ years of experience leading a world-class team in a rapidly growing environment. Must have experience managing managers, to lead a team of 30 people
• Experience integrating technologies as a result of M&A activity
• Experience leading a growth stage technology company and experience with a mid or large-sized technology company. SMB exposure preferred
• Experience driving an efficient testing/performance strategy throughout an organization
• Bachelors degree; Masters preferred
