Summary/Objective:

The ideal candidate will provide leadership and coordination of the key marketing activities for the company, including, but not limited to: marketing collateral library by customer lifecycle stages; inbound and outbound marketing strategy and tactics; brand guidelines; and go-to-market strategies for new products and features.

 

In addition, the candidate will oversee a team of professionals (currently four) and work very closely with sales in optimizing current campaigns, as well as brainstorming and launching new ones, to accelerate our company’s already rapid growth.

 

Essential Functions:

  • Optimize ROI of marketing budget by channel to accelerate company’s growth
  • Measure, analyze and streamline key marketing tactics that are currently yielding positive results
  • Brainstorm and execute test marketing campaigns to systematically expand our company’s reach
  • Develop marketing strategy for new and existing products
  • Oversee implementation of a PESO model, integrated marketing strategy: advertising, events, digital marketing, PR, etc.
  • Work closely with sales team to receive critical customer feedback, incorporate into marketing materials and create the appropriate tools and training to enable the sales team to succeed.
  • Lead the sprint planning and execution process for the marketing team
  • Build the marketing team with the necessary bandwidth and skillsets to support the company’s growth
  • Collaborate with the communications director to ensure media goals are being met
  • Provide guidance and strategic direction that enables the digital marketing manager to successfully execute campaigns and achieve ambitious marketing lead generation goals   

 

Competency:

  • Superior knowledge of digital marketing tactics (paid search, display, SEO, email – outbound and lifecycle campaigns, etc.) as an individual contributor and manager
  • Lead generation expertise for B2B and B2C
  • Skillful use of hypothesis testing for A/B and multivariate testing
  • Systematic and process driven, not spray-and-pray approach
  • Not data driven but data centric
  • Prefers to get top and bottom line results than to increase “brand awareness”
  • Ability to create business cases for new ideas to test
  • Must take ownership, be proactive, inspire others, have bias for action, and be a self-starter
  • Must be a leader and builder, not merely a manager
  • Excellent communication skills across all levels of the organization

 

Required Education & Experience:

  • BS/BA Degree in Marketing/Business or data-centric fields (or equivalent work experience)
  • 10+ years total professional experience; at least five years of proven successful management and leadership in traditional and digital marketing campaigns
  • MBA preferred but not required
  • Experience at start-ups or rapidly growing companies is a plus

  • Google Adwords and Analytics
  • A/B or Multivariate Testing Experience or Certificates
  • Bullseye – Traction Framework Experience
