Craftsy is looking for a Video Production Manager who will manage simultaneous video productions and teams across our studios and field productions. This role will include hands-on management of videographers, technical directors, and studio support staff. The Production Manager will contribute to workflow and process optimization, and the development of more efficient systems, reducing internal costs and improving and implementing new production processes. We’re looking for someone with deep experience in managing creative video production teams and driving a high volume of deliverables with regular daily milestones. The successful candidate will have both a creative and technical background, project management skills and corporate experience, as well as possess great attention to detail. A passion for video production and process improvement paired with strong communications skills and teamwork are a must.
 
As our Production Manager, you will:
  • Direct the management and development of production studio team members
  • Continually identify and recommend production workflow process and aesthetic improvements 
  • Adapt to and role model a continuous improvement mindset 
  • Partner with the team to plan and schedule daily productions and ensure teams are appropriately staffed and assigned the relevant resources to meet performance, quality, internal cost and timeline goals
  • Support daily/weekly status meetings with the Content & Education team to prioritize and communicate objectives
  • Review weekly/monthly/quarterly volume and quality reporting (actual vs. forecast) and participate in annual budgeting process, including capital expenditures
  • Quickly build credibility and trust with stakeholders
  • Collaborate with Executive leadership to help drive process standardization and continuous improvement
  • Manage studio projects balancing the needs of the business with production priorities by assisting with schedules, coordinating studio resources and ensuring delivery against speed, cost and quality expectations
  • Manage and grow relationships with a roster of freelance and contract team members
  • Manage team’s short and long-range deliverables to ensure proper resources are available to meet all timelines
  • Manage several team members in their responsibilities including completing performance reviews to evaluate direct reports' performance and continue to support their career development 
  • Ensure policies, procedures and best practices are documented and maintained
Your background and experience likely include, but are not limited to: 
  • A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field and 8-10 years of professional experience in video production
  • Expertise in applied techniques with a working knowledge of video production, videography, technical directing, lighting, composition, color quality, and aesthetics
  • 5-7 years in a leadership role within a creative environment with an emphasis on video production
  • Proven experience successfully delivering results on time and on budget
  • Strong leadership and team building capabilities with the ability to have impact cross-functionally 
  • Exceptional ability to collaborate and work in a high-pressure, team oriented environment
  • Ability to respond to positive and constructive input to yield increasingly better results
  • Strong formal and informal, written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to set priorities, multi-task and meet deadlines
  • Ability to overcome challenges with a solution-based mindset
  • Demonstrated implementation of process improvement programs considered an asset
  • Working knowledge of production software for Mac platforms. i.e Adobe Creative Cloud Suite
  • Experience hiring, developing, and managing a team
