About the Role:  

The VP of Operations is an integral role in accomplishing our strategic objectives at OrthoFi and will report directly to the CEO.  This role is responsible for delivering world class service while delivering on financial commitments within a results-driven culture that values trust and respect.  We are looking for a leader that will create a vision, engage team members and inspire the team to perform at higher levels than they thought were possible.  This role will be required to accomplish a difficult task of improving quality of our service while at the same time improving our efficiencies to drive down our costs.  The VP of Operations role will be responsible for delivering all back office services that we provide to orthodontic practices including insurance benefits verification & calculation, claims submission & follow up, insurance remittance processing, patient billing & collections and electronic enrollment.



Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership and a vision for the operations team to ensure the highest standards of operational excellence and efficiency

  • Lead, mentor, and support Operations leaders in creating a high performing team and creating a culture of accountability through transparency, open dialog, and collaboration

  • Partner with other leaders to improve our internal product and solidify processes, policies & procedures of our operations teams to improve the quality of our services

  • Identify & implement cost saving opportunities through automation, process improvements and improved performance management

  • Continually improve client experience and strengthen client loyalty by exceeding customer expectations

  • Deliver against business performance/financial targets

  • Identify trends in operational and service area performance in order to proactively address issues and ensure exceptional, prompt, and accurate service is provided


Requirements:  

  • 10+ years experience in operational roles

  • 7+ years operational leadership experience with management of managers, preferably in a fast growing tech-enabled company that has recently scaled from a startup environment

  • 7+ years program management experience including planning and delivery, with the ability to multi-task and manage multiple complex projects concurrently in a cross functional environment

  • Experienced managing direct reports with responsibilities including hiring, coaching, development, goal setting, and facilitating formal (annual) and informal (ongoing) performance reviews

  • Ability to measure and analyze project and operational performance and translate into improved service delivery

  • Outstanding communication skills with the ability to work effectively with a diverse customer audience, including C-level executives, product/technical stakeholders and demonstrated interpersonal skills to interface well with internal and external clients

  • Ability to thrive in a fast paced environment; self-motivated, self-managed

  • Strong customer service and relationship management skills

  • Adept strategic thinker and problem solver

  • Strong organizational skills as well as the ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities, assignments, and roles

  • Excellent MS Office experience (Project, Powerpoint, Excel)

  • Working knowledge of the software development lifecycle from requirements gathering to post-implementation support

  • Advanced Training in one or more improvement methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma, CMMi, etc) is preferred

  • Startup experience would be a plus including successful bootstrapping

  • Healthcare experience is preferred but not required

  • Bachelor's degree is required and Master’s degree is preferred
