Typical projects might involve sketching a new product one day and creating marketing illustrations for it another. Mission:
The UX/UI Designer is part of the product team, thus this position works cross functionally with engineering, marketing and client success. Projects, aka “art”, is created to solve various visual problems across our wide variety of products and marketing materials. You act as the user advocate during the product development process, subjecting early stage designs to usability testing or expert review, and offering implementation suggestions from a user centered perspective. You are the "go to" for all things visual in the interface and marketing of BombBomb’s products. Thinking, sketching and competitive cross checking is imperative before one pixel is drawn.
You effortlessly interact and solicit feedback with internal teams (customer success, marketing and sales) and external stakeholders, customers and partners alike. You make killer design presentations and are able to clearly articulate and defend your decisions, while also being flexible in accepting critiques and philosophy changes. You are able to offer constructive criticism to your design peers and thrive in a creatively collaborative environment. You are also comfortable estimating project efforts and communicating timeline changes, challenges and successes.
Lastly and mostly, you are excited about our product and growing with us as we continually refine our offerings and extend our customer base.
Skills Required:
5+ years of experience working in fine arts, graphic design or illustration
Skills in two or more disciplines: graphic design, 2D animation or illustration
Mastery of Adobe Creative Suite
A link to an online portfolio showcasing your work is required to be considered for this role (include link on your resume)
A portfolio that exhibits conceptual ability with a contextually thoughtful aesthetic
Bonus points for Coding ability of any sort
Outcomes:
Within 1 month of hire: Establish design fluidly in the current aesthetic vibe of BombBomb. Complete a couple of small projects that raise eyebrows. Develop working relationships with your colleagues in engineering, client success and marketing.
Within 3 months of hire: Visually optimize a current product + marketing effort to the point of oohs and ahhhs.
Within 6 months of hire: Independently concept, sketch, design and refine a new product build.
