We’re looking for a passionate User Experience Researcher to help us focus on creating great experiences that extend to all of Sphero’s touchpoints: Marketing, Web, Store, Product, App, Community, you name it.

• You will be responsible for creating, driving, and owning the user experience design and implementation.
• You’ll will define the user experience for the applications that empower our unique products and the entire customer experience before, during, and after product launch.
• Develop test plans, conduct product tests with internal and external users, and compile the results for presentation to your teammates.
• Provide leadership, training, and mentorship to intern Experience Designers as well as insert good UX practices into the core DNA of the company / brand.
• Be part of a passionate team on a shared mission: To disrupt and better the toy industry, operating like a technology company. To make toys about imagination, about the power of play, about humans and our relationships.
• Do user testing and present data to the team.

As a UX professional, you have:

• A portfolio of best-in-class user experience design that demonstrates the ability to translate large, complex systems into simple, usable experiences – particularly in digital platforms.
• 3-5 years experience in user experience design.
• Deep experience with product design processes.
• A solid understanding and passion for human centered design.
• Sensitivity to the physical, cognitive, emotional, and cultural needs of the people who buy Sphero products.
• A thorough understanding of usability engineering and research.
• Fluency in Omnigraffle, InDesign, or other industry standard design and wireframing tools. A bonus would be game design experience or a working understanding of this field. 
• Effective and articulate design communication and decision-making skills plus the ability to find the right solution, even if it's not the ideal solution.
  Experience designing/developing consumer focused platforms/products.
• A strong understanding of current technologies and the experiences that enable them.
• The ability to work with an interdisciplinary team of designers, developers and engineers.
• Grace under pressure, and the ability to balance a workload of multiple projects.
• A proven ability to demonstrate strong leadership skills in a fast-paced environment. Sphero is still a start-up at heart -- we move fast, take risks, and learn lessons and improve
