As a Systems Architect you will work as part of a highly technical team of professionals who are responsible for all architectural design, development and deployment of cost effective and sustainable technical and application solutions to meet business requirements. Strong organizational skills, technical expertise and attention to detail are key in this customer-focused role. 

Essential Functions: 

- The Systems Architect 4 works as part of a technical team on projects that support the overall goals of the department and the IT function. The team's responsibility is to: 

- Translate business requirements using complex methods/models to determine appropriate system solutions. 

- Work within a cross-functional team to provide technical expertise in the design and planning of system solutions. 

- Research, identify, test, certify, and select technology products required for solution delivery. 

- Maximize the performance, uptime, and supportability, of NetApp's technology platforms. 

- Establish and implement technology migration strategies for applications or architectures. 

- May focus on WAN, LAN or server technology. 

- Ensure connectivity is in place between the internet and the organization and monitor the protection and efficiency of the company firewall. 

- Conduct systems programming and systems support activities, such as new or revised program language codes, processing routines and report generators. 

- Monitor effective language codes, processing routines, hardware use and use of database management techniques. 

- Modify, maintain and update software, such as compilers, link editors, assemblers, OEM utilities, JCL, macros and subroutines. 

- Provide mentorship and training to other associates at the same level or below on processes and tools; and to handle more complex issues/requests. 

- Produce spreadsheets and reports for various job functions. 

- Create documentation and processes for less senior Systems Architects.

Requirements: 

- Strong oral and written communication skills. 

- Ability to work collaboratively within a team of other Systems Architects to support deadlines; ability to work independently as well. 

- Strong knowledge of networking technologies. 

- Strong knowledge of Cisco equipment. 

- Strong knowledge of Visio. 

- Scripting ability in Shell, PERL, Python, or other similar use language. 

- Ability to handle multiple tasks concurrently with competing deadlines. 

- Aptitude for troubleshooting and resolving issues even in unfamiliar environments. 

Responsibility: 

- The tasks this individual is responsible are often unstructured and the issues addressed are less defined requiring new perspectives and creative approaches. 
- This individual will apply attained experiences and knowledge in solving problems that are complex in scope requiring in-depth evaluation. 
- Demonstrate good judgment in solving problems as well as identifying problems in advance, and proposing solutions. 

Interaction: 

- This individual must work effectively with Staff to Vice President level employees within the function, across functions and with external parties. 
- Limited supervision and direction is provided, as this individual can operate and drive results and set priorities independently. 
- The ideal candidate will be a proactive contributor and subject matter expert. 
- To be successful, this individual must demonstrate favorable results through regular leadership and influencing others.

Education & Experience: 

- A minimum of 8 years of experience is required; 9 to 11 years of experience is preferred. 
- A Bachelor of Arts or Sciences Degree is required; or equivalent experience. 
- Demonstrated ability to have completed multiple, complex technical projects.
