 Personal Capital is looking for an experienced Systems Administrator to provide systems/network and applications support in our three offices.

The primary responsibility will be to provide support Windows servers, networking infrastructure, storage systems and cloud services. You will need to build, setup, maintain, implement, and troubleshoot technology problems related to Windows systems that affect end-user productivity as well the network infrastructure including: phones, printers/scanners, network switches, firewalls, backups, etc. You may also be asked to provide support for Windows/Mac users (including desktops and laptops) on an as-needed basis.

 

You will be in charge of maintaining many different systems, so the ability to multitask and prioritize, work under deadline, and provide excellent customer service to users will be key qualities. The right individual is detail-oriented, possesses solid technical skills, and is dedicated to maintaining up-to-date documentation. The hours for this position are primarily during weekday business hours, with some off-hours and weekend support required.

 

Primary responsibilities:

·         Deploying, maintaining, upgrading, patching and the ongoing administration of Windows infrastructure

·         Planning, design and implementation of new applications.

•       Administer email, backups, virus protection, remote access, and security & critical updates

•       Escalation point of contact for telephony support

•       Responsible for monitoring systems and corporate infrastructure tools

•       Troubleshoot and resolve any issues as they occur.

•       Monitor and optimize server and application performance.

•       Ensure highest level of data security and backup.

•       Automate all aspects of systems management through creative scripting and toolsets

•       Add/Manage capacity as usage flexes

•       Advise on hardware utilization and recommend changes when necessary

•       Track the health of all of our services, identify problems, find root cause and fix

•       Housekeeping of Infrastructure

•       Provide tier 2/3 escalation technical support to corporate users, which includes desktop support and resolving helpdesk issues for internal and remote employees

 

Experience: 

•       At least 4 years of experience as a Systems Administrator

•       4+ years of Windows 7, Windows server (2008/2012) administration experience or equivalent

•       3+ years strong wired\wireless networking administration (cisco preferred)

•       2+ years of storage and virtualization implementations (VMWare and AWS preferred)

•       Strong Active Directory experience

•       Application & OS security, including virus scan management

•       Network protocols (basic TCP/IP, UDP, SNMP, SMTP, DHCP, and DNS, iSCSI, NFS); VPN Administration

•       Experience with management and monitoring tools (such as Nagios, Cacti, PRTG, Logic Monitor, or other)

•       Minimum 4 years of solid experience in overall systems and software support and maintenance in a mixed Windows and LINIX environment

•       Experience with TCP/IP network troubleshooting and administration

•       Experience with SSO\SAML integration and support

 

Essential Skills:

•       Significant experience with Cisco Switching, Routing and Firewall (ACL, VPN, Routing, Vlans, trunking, general configuration, monitoring etc..)

•       Significant experience supporting Windows systems and having linux / unix experience would be a plus.

•       Experience automating tasks with scripting (e.g. PowerShell, WMI, ADSI, Perl, Python)

●     Windows Deployment Services (WDS) and Windows Update Services (WUS)

●     Experience with network attached storage devices and SANs

●     Google Apps administration

●     Experience with VMware ESXi 5x, vSphere and VirtualCenter.

●     Mac experience and Mac/Windows server systems interoperability

●     Participation in design, architecture and implementation plans for server infrastructure

●     Experience writing project proposals and managing projects.

●     Ability to learn quickly and tackle new and technically complex problems with courage and tenacity

●     Must have demonstrated ability to assist with emerging problems quickly and with flexibility

●     Ability to work in a fast paced environment with changing needs and requirements

●     Must be detail-oriented and be an organized thinker who is service-minded with strong communication & customer service skills

●     Must be security minded

●     Individual must be of the highest degree of integrity

●     Ability to lift 50lbs. as needed
