We are seeking dedicated, high caliber professionals who are smart and energetic, have a positive attitude and take pride in their work.  Currently, we have an opening for a Statistician.  The Statistician will be responsible for the creation, implementation and maintenance of statistical models.  Responsibilities also include working closely with internal client service teams as well as directly with clients.  In addition, this position will work with the technologies staff to implement new models in production and establish quality control procedures.   The primary responsibilities of the Statistician position include:

 

  1. Develop highly customized statistical models to be leveraged by clients for prospecting into the Wiland database.
  2. Develop highly customized statistical models to be leveraged by clients for the circulation of active, cross-divisional and dormant buyers as well as non-buyers and inquiries.
  3. Assist in the evaluation of various statistical techniques including proprietary algorithms in the context of prospect and customer models.
  4. Review and perform quality checks on existing data sources.  Assist in leveraging existing data sources to their fullest potential for use within models and targeting decisions.  This includes the generation of new information as well as the creation of models to be used as inputs in other processes.

 

Education, Experience & Qualifications:

 

  • Masters Degree in a quantitative discipline (Statistics, Economics, Mathematics, or Research) or similar Bachelors Degree with strong work experiences.  Must be able to produce college transcripts showing minimum 3.0 GPA.
  • 2+ years experience in SAS, SPSS or S-PLUS.
  • 1+ years experience demonstrated professional presentation skills.
  • Proficient in Excel and Access.
  • Ability to perform advanced statistical analysis is essential.
  • Experience working with very large databases completing sampling designs, multivariate modeling, classification analyses and production implementation of algorithms.
  • Experience with data mining tools is a plus.
  • Excellent attention to detail, organization skills, and ability to multi-task.
  • Strong, clear written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work well in a team environment with little direct supervision.
