FreshTracks.io, a startup within the CA Accelerator, is seeking a UX Designer with a passion for using data to gain insights into real world systems. This role will be part of a highly collaborative team design and implementation team. We think transforming the way software is delivered and monitored is pretty exciting stuff, and we’re looking for a designer who wants to join the fun.

We are focused on collecting millions of metrics per second from infrastructure, ephemeral containers and applications. FreshTracks correlates metrics and anomalies between them to provide seamless observability for Operators and Developers throughout the software lifecycle. We are making monitoring a first-class citizen throughout the DevOps lifecycle.

We are actively seeking a hands-on UX Designer who has a passion for researching and designing world class products with a focus on great user experience and design. We are an Agile organization with a focus on team-based decision making and servant leadership. Successful designers at CA bring out the best in their designs through active participation, communication with teammates, quantitative and qualitative research and user experience expertise.

The CA Accelerator is following the Lean Startup process. We’ve still got some problems and solutions to validate. We’re going to need your help to deeply understand user needs and translate these into product designs and design a cohesive interface and interaction language.

What you will be doing:

Conveying your ideas through sketches, prototypes, and animations, analytically tracking design changes to inform future choices, pushing the boundaries in interaction design, offering new ideas and solutions for products and patterns, switching gears and working on multiple projects simultaneously, taking design risks that balance usability and innovation, and creating and defining personas, scenarios, journey maps, task flows, wireframes, screen layouts, and interaction models, while rapidly evolving concepts into buildable designs.

Qualifications:

At the end of the day, the main things we’re searching for are talent and passion. However, experience in certain areas could help you hit the ground running, so here’s our attempt at narrowing things down a bit:

A great portfolio highlighting a solid understanding of information architecture & interaction design; Adobe CS, Sketch, Axure, Balsamiq; HTML/CSS/JavaScript.

We’ll upvote if you also:

Possess strong Visual Design skills, have experience in User Research and an ability to code HTML/CSS and JavaScript OR the curiosity and willingness to learn and experience working in Agile environments.

Ideal candidates will have experience in the following:

You have at least 2 years of experience in design.

You have a deep understanding of user needs and can translate these needs into product designs.

You have an insatiable curiosity and an obsession for data and using data to tell stories.

You understand how your designs will perform when implemented and how design decisions affect implementation time.

You have excellent communication skills including experience speaking to technical and business-oriented audiences.

You have a BA/BS Degree or global equivalent in Human-Computer Interaction, Information Design, or related HCI discipline experience.
