Senior Quality Assurance Engineer

This is a hands-on Quality engineering position focused on server side back end tesitng. The QA Engineer will be part of the high end Agile Engineering team, help design test strategies and test through the release.

In addition, this candidate will work closely with the Product Management team & customer success team influencing future product feature implementation and identifying opportunities to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of test coverage to help build a Quality Product. 

This role demands a strong technical background and desire to innovate and break the boundaries of traditional “QA” to test Cloud Integration systems.

Responsibilities:

• Performs tool development and test case automation
• Performs web services and API level testing
• Isolates defects effectively and provide specific conditions for reproducibility
• Works independently with the development team to technically understand testing necessities of a component
• Applies mastery of engineering to design, influence & drive Quality and testability of products & services
• Diverse scope of assignments, covering a broad range of technologies & high level of complexity
• Contributes to designing, developing, improving and maintaining excellent QA processes
• Builds and supports QA Automation framework (Selenium with Java & TestNG/ scripting – multi mechanize, Jmeter)
• Works with Dev Ops on implementing QA Automation framework into Continuous Integration process
• Coaches and mentors others on engineering and/or Quality methods and techniques

Qualifications:

• BS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, MIS, or related technical degree
• 4+ years technical experience with API based web service testing
• 4+ years technical experience with HTTP technology and principles, including REST principles
• Experience with SQL and JSON web services
• 3+ years technical experience with databases technologies and working knowledge of SQL
• In-depth familiarity of Linux (advanced user; sysadmin experience a bonus, but not required)
• Development of automation framework using Java
• Root Cause Analysis of defects and impact analysis of code change.
• Proven interpersonal skills, working effectively with various levels of the organization, across many different functional areas
• Excellent organizational skills (must be able to manage concurrent projects with different parts of the organization)
• Self directed individual that continuously seeks out new challenges
