Aetna Consumer Health & Products (CHP) mandate is to transform healthand wellness via products that enable consumer engagement and a best-in-classexperience. This team is responsible for Aetnasdigital strategy and all digital products; as well as the developmentroadmap and execution of the roadmap. A key part of this team is to build anintegrated platform and underlying products to drive engagement andrevolutionize health and wellness.

Aetna is taking on a major initiative to redesign and rebuild many of itscustomer facing digital assets. This effort will include a completely newapproach to developing software within Aetna, using the latest designapproaches, technologies, and processes. Aetna Digital is anewly formed startup like business unit within Aetna, which will design, buildand deliver a completely new and integrated digital experience for our users.

Aetna is seeking atalented, Senior Android developer to join our team. You will bedeveloping software on a highly visible project dedicated to solving some ofthe toughest problems that exist today in the healthcare insurance industry. Aswe evolve our mobile offerings, we need an Android platform lead who can mentorother engineers, establish strong coding best practices, and interface withProduct, backend, UX and system architecture teams while building out highquality application features.

REQUIREMENTS:

· Proven track record of successfully delivering Androidapplications in to the hands of customers

Sound understanding of and experience with Object OrientedProgramming

· Proficient writing JUnit and Espresso UI testsfor native applications. May perform or assist with integration and systemtesting, according to detailed test plans to ensure high-quality systems.

· Proficient with Gradle

· Proficient with Git

· Ability to work effectively with Productorganization, UX, backend and management teams

Independently designs and writes code, and may lead others inthe development of cost effective application and program solutions.

· Leads or acts as chief technical contributor totranslation of business requirements to technical specifications.

· Leads or acts as a technical contributor in thedesign of new applications or enhancements including integration of purchasedsolutions.

· Independently performs and assists other teammembers in providing ongoing system maintenance, research, and problem resolution.

· With limited direction, supports theimplementation of systems into production.

· Responsible for Code Asset Management for anapplication or set of applications. Supports and promotes the reuse of assetsacross the organization.

· May lead or act as a subject matter expert forprojects and/or service requests impacting an application or set ofapplications.

· Serves as team leader to direct technicalactivities, while also providing support for small and large highly complexprojects that require increased skill across multiple technical environmentsand disciplines, that have system wide impact and that integrate across theorganization.

· Receives some supervision and direction asregards prioritization of work but is competent to work independently and tooffer direction and oversight to assigned team.

BACKGROUND/EXPERIENCEdesired:

4-6+ years of experience with native Android applicationdevelopment

6+ years of experience in application program development, oran equivalent combination of education and work experience.

4-6+ years of experience in systems analysis and applicationprogram development

Retrofit and/or Dagger are a plus (nice to have)

Kotlin is a plus

EDUCATION

Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
