NetApp is looking for a Software Engineer in Test Manager to join our new Solidfire team. SolidFire’s product is a rapidly growing enterprise class data storage currently in production with an all SSD solution, specifically designed for large-scale, public and private cloud deployments. SolidFire is delivering high availability, high performance, fault tolerant software that runs concurrently on up to 100 nodes. We flawlessly pool resources and can maintain data integrity even when the network, rack, node, hardware, device, file system, kernel or other software components fail. We are currently seeking an experienced Software Engineering Manager to lead and provide technical direction to a team of 10+ very talented Software Engineers in Test (SET). More specific responsibilities include: 

• Hiring and professional development of the SET team, with a focus on quality driven development capabilities and best practices 
  
• Identify full project scope and set effective development milestones and deadlines for the team 
  
• Participate in design and development of new and existing features and lead team of engineers through execution 
  
• Build and promote a work environment that is highly collaborative and team ­centric 
  
• Work collaboratively with development and QE teams to increase quality of SolidFire products. 
  
• Set performance expectations for individual employees and monitor their success in meeting these goals
  

Job Requirements

• You have a strong aptitude for and experience in developing commercial­ grade, systems ­level software. Additional attributes for success include: 
• 3+ years experience leading teams of 10+ engineers developing a commercial technology product in a high­ growth, fast ­paced SW engineering environment 
  
• Demonstrated understanding of the full software development and quality life cycle 
  
• Experience leading and hiring for a team of smart, high achieving 'A' players 
  
• 3+ years personal hands ­on development experience working on systems ­level software 
  
• Familiarity with Software and Quality Engineering for enterprise storage, networking, virtualization or security products
  

Education & Experience: 

• B.S., M.S., or PhD in Computer Science or a related field/ equivalent experience 
  
• 3+ years experience leading teams of 10+ engineers developing a commercial technology product 
  
• 3+ years personal hands ­on development experience working on systems ­level software
