About you

We’re looking for a Software Developer to help us bring Notion to the world. You’ll be an individual contributor on the Data Science team, working with a range of technologies building physical and data driven models for the Internet of Things. You’ll be working closely with fast-paced and highly skilled individuals across the whole Notion team.  The ideal candidate has a rock solid computer science background with an interest in developing Data Science skills.

Responsibilities

  • Write clean, tested, and extensible code

  • Work with sensor data to understand physical manifestation

  • Model data collected from Notion sensors to make deterministic conclusions

  • Implement interfaces between models and backend to promote seamless exchanges of data in secure manners

  • Design experiments around testing models and how to improve them

  • Develop data pipeline to acquire test data for use in model testing

  • Interface with hardware team to refine and optimize data collection onboard sensors

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or hard sciences with equivalent work experience

  • A passion for understanding how things work

  • Extreme sense of ownership

  • Self-driven and can work with limited direction

  • Interest in Data Science

  • Ability to collaborate and work well with others in a high paced, fun environment

  • Delivery of high quality and effective solutions while balancing deadlines

Bonus Points

  • Math and Physics background

  • Probability and Statistics knowledge

  • Experience with R or Julia

  • Experience with AWS Products

  • Experience with Docker
