Department overview:

Technology at OnDeck is a mix of building cutting edge systems to provide a world-class user experience to our customers and partners, aggregate mountains of data to make real-time lending decisions, and of course move lots of money every day.  We have an emphasis on scalability, reliability and accuracy.

The Enterprise Business Services team is building a new platform that will expose core common functionality to the rest of our technology stack as well as business users, providing maximum exposure to both. By designing and developing a new platform, there is a lot of opportunity to learn and choose cutting-edge technologies. The systems will be built from the ground up and will have a significant impact across the company on a daily basis.

In this role you will build:

  • Customer event and communication tracking platform
  • RESTful APIs for centralized customer and applicant data stores
  • Data validation and standardization services (address validation, do not call registry integration, etc)
  • Integration of 3rd party tools

Qualifications for success:

  • Experience building, integrating, and securing API's with a RESTful service
  • Experience and interest in Java and popular Java-based frameworks and libraries, even though we are a language agnostic company
  • Focus on quality and testing.  We have strict code test coverage and quality requirements
  • Experience building software in a team environment, specifically some comfort level with Git, or similar collaborative tool
  • Great communication skills
  • Driven and eager to learn
  • Experience with a wide range of programming languages (Java, Python, Ruby, etc) ideal
  • Experience integrating with 3rd party platforms helpful
