We are looking for a skilled software engineer to help build and expand our scientific data applications. We are a small agile/lean software team working on web applications for storing and managing scientific and biomedical data. You will participate in, and provide guidance for, all facets of the software development life cycle. Level commensurate with experience.

Key Job Responsibilities:

• Provide design guidance and insight into cloud deployments of web applications, high volume data management and storage, and multi-tiered data mining across multiple domains
• Engage in full-stack web application development using JavaScript, HTML, Java, and SQL
• Write object/functional Java 8 code for enhancements to a database-backed web applications
• Create and implement new software features while helping to maintain and improve legacy applications
• Become a contributing member of our software team: interact with the team, give and receive feedback on code design, and take the lead on projects working with other engineers to drive them to completion
• Develop new ideas to help shape our agile software development processes and practices

Qualifications:

Education

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related field
  

Skills and experience

• At least eight years related software experience
• Expert Java or C# programmer
• JavaScript experience
• SQL experience
• Strong unit/integration testing skills: as developers we write tests for all new code

Experience with the following a plus

• Micoservices/SOA/SaaS/REST
• Modern JavaScript/browser-based user interfaces
• Java 8
• JPA/Hibernate/Spring-data
• Oracle/SQL
• Spring or other dependency injection experience
• Mockito or other mocking framework

• Maven or other build systems with dependency management
• Play framework
• Tomcat or other web application server
• Linux/Unix servers
• Biochemistry or related scientific field
• Medical device software development experience

Work Environment:

We are a fun and passionate team from diverse backgrounds with an informal office work environment. Our work environment favors the curious with frequent company seminars covering all parts of the business, technical elements of our technology and scientific applications of our technology. The SomaLogic campus consists of several buildings adjacent to each other with occasional meetings spread over the campus. This position involves extended time at a computer and frequent informal meetings and discussions with developers.
