As Sr. Product Manager, you have responsibility for the business results of EMS, our flagship software solution. You will build products from existing ideas, and help to develop new products based on your industry experience and your contact with customers and prospects. You must possess a unique blend of business and technical savvy; a big-picture vision, and the drive to make that vision a reality. You must enjoy spending time in the market to understand their problems, and find innovative solutions for the broader market.

You must be able to communicate with all areas of the company. You will work with engineering to define product release requirements. You will work with marketing to define the go-to-market strategy, helping them understand the product positioning, key benefits, and target customer. You will also serve as the internal and external evangelist for your product offering, occasionally working with the sales channel and key customers.

In your first month, you’ll become familiar with our products by attending an intensive product training course as well as exploring on your own. We’ll walk through our strategies around customers, markets, and products, and we’ll take you through the details of our current roadmap. You’ll also start building relationships with product owners, UX designers, developers, and QA, as well as with others throughout the organization.

In your second month, you’ll take over day-to-day responsibility for the product line with the goal of delivering a release in Spring 2017 that meets our goals for scope, quality, and customer satisfaction. You’ll participate in stand-ups, work with product owners, meet with customers by phone or in person, and all of the other activities needed for success.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage the entire product life cycle from strategic planning to tactical activities
  • Specify market requirements by conducting market research supported by on-going visits to customers and non-customers
  • Work with Product Owners to drive a solution set cross-functionally (Development, Marketing, Professional Services, Support, Sales) through market requirements, product development, and positioning
  • Run training, beta and pilot programs with early-stage products
  • Act as a leader within the company

Skills and Experience Required:

  • 8+ years of product management experience with B2B enterprise software

    -or-

  • 5+ years of responsibility for the success of an EMS implementation
  • Excellent teamwork skills
  • Loves solving business problems with technology
  • Able to travel to customer and non-customer sites (25%)
Skills Desired:
  • Computer Science or Engineering degree or work experience a strong plus.
  • Experience with enterprise software
  • Experience with event management software
