The Community Manager & Lead Editor is responsible for both the editorial content of BiggerPockets.com and the experience and engagement within the BiggerPockets Community.
 
 
Responsibilities:
 
As Community Manager, you will be responsible for working with our team of staff and volunteer moderators to grow and maintain the value of the BiggerPockets community for its users. This includes working with the CEO on community strategy, as well as managing moderators, interacting with the community on site and off, reporting on engagement statistics, and keeping the community active and engaged.
 
As Editor, you will be responsible for the overall quality of proprietary content of BiggerPockets, from news articles, original works, the company blog, and any other editorial content. This includes recruiting and managing writers, setting the editorial calendar, editing content to ensure it meets company guidelines, and enforcing the voice and brand of BiggerPockets as the trusted online community for real estate investors.
 
You will fulfill the role of Social Media Manager, Community Manager and Lead Editor.
 
Responsibilities include:
 
Provide vision and strategy for the company's editorial content and calendar
Write and edit articles, feature stories, blog posts and special content
Drive social media strategy and implementation on site and off.
Use metrics to inform content decisions and future opportunities
Provide and enforce best practices on editorial voice, process and audience engagement
Review user generated comments and posts quickly
Engage in related communities to help spread the values and knowledge contained within BiggerPockets
Recruit, train, and manage volunteer moderators as well as staff to grow and maintain the BiggerPockets community
Enforce site usage guidelines as appropriate
Other tasks and responsibilities as may be assigned by the CEO
 
Experience
The successful candidate will be an excellent writer, have editorial experience, and have a track record of leadership. He or she will also be technically savvy with experience developing compelling digital content, and experience with online communities. A record of social media and social network engagement is an important bonus. Any experience with real estate and investing is a major plus.
 
Skills
2+ years of experience managing social media platforms or online communities
4+ years of writing and editorial experience
Candidate must have an interest in real estate.
Experience leading editorial teams, writing for the web and managing editorial / production calendars
Experience working with freelance writers
Ability to grasp business strategies and translate into compelling, shareable content
Actively participates in a wide variety of social media activities such as blogging, community development and management, Twitter, commenting, etc.
Understanding of popular social networks - design, functionality, users
Demonstrated ability to produce community management guidelines and documents that reflects the holistic understanding and implementation of the role of social media and its effects.
Very high attention to detail
Knowledge of basic web design and user experience principles is highly desired
Knowledge of or experience in real estate and/or investment areas is a major plus
Education
- BA / BS degree or higher from an excellent school in Business or Communications.
- A degree in communications, economics, public relations, marketing, or related fields is preferred, but not required. 
Compensation
$30,000 - $45,000 Salary (based on experience) + Health & Dental Benefits

Location

We are located in the trendy RiNO area just east of downtown Denver. We are centrally located to lots of fun bars and restaurants. We have a modern, open concept warehouse office when you do want to venture in.
