Improve the accuracy and depth of Healthgrades data through in-depth data analysis, definition of business rules, and translation of business rules into technical requirements.

Responsibilities:

Act as subject Matter Expert on data including but not limited to: Individuals (Physicians, Alternate Providers, Dentists, etc.); Healthcare Institutions (Hospitals, Clinics, Systems, etc.), Ancillary data (location, patient claims, cost, and patient outcomes).

• Define accuracy metrics for new and existing data sources and data elements
• Create extracts for the primary source validation of data; participate in the validation process as needed.
• Create re-usable queries in support of data investigations; train specialists in the use of those queries.
• Develop and foster relationships across various multi-functional teams within Healthgrades to build camaraderie around shared goals of accurate data that helps the consumer and differentiates the brand.

Data Investigations and Analysis 

• Approve data elements before they are integrated with downstream applications.
• Perform in-depth analysis of new and existing data elements and sources
• Perform ad-hoc analysis and research in support of new business opportunities, executive requests, and client needs.
• Perform data analysis on new and existing sources in support of decisions on whether to include and/or retain sources.
• Oversee and maintain data elements including organization and file structures for:
• Responsible for creating and implementing core business rules for data processing prior display.
• Define and implement match rules within and across entities.

Infrastructure Projects 

• Work with Product Owners to create business and technical stories for the Database Development team.  Define and document both business and technical requirements for infrastructure and business rule changes; including new functionality
• Work with other business stakeholders to understand and translate the requirements for new products into data and database requirements
• Collaborate with Quality Assurance to define test cases for projects, build regression test suites, and create overall and product impact analysis.
• Work with Product Owners on road-maps for infrastructure projects.
• Perform in-depth data analysis in support of defining project requirements, acceptance criteria, and expected impact.

Job Requirements/Qualifications

• Strong SQL skills including ability to build re-usable
• Proven analytical skills; ability to review complex data, draw conclusions, and make recommendations
• In depth understanding of relational databases
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to work independently and initiative to ask questions to clarify
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Proficiency in web browser applications and Microsoft Excel
• Positive attitude and willingness to learn
• Familiarity with the Federal Healthcare System preferred
• Understanding of Physicians, Hospital Systems or other healthcare environments preferred
