We’re looking for a high-energy, hands-on Senior Accountant who will be responsible for day to day accounting activities.  Join our small but hardcore team to help establish the processes and procedures that will support Sphero as we bring our next generation products into the marketplace.  At Sphero, you can do the work you love, be yourself, and take fun seriously.

Some of the awesome things you will work on:

• Roll up your sleeves and dig into the day-to-day accounting transactions including preparation and posting of journal entries, reconciliation of balance sheet and bank account reconciliations, and other general accounting duties.

• Work closely with the operations team to ensure that inventory movement has been accurately and  thoroughly tracked, reconcile inventory records, ensure inventory costing is accurate, and evaluate inventory reserves.

• Maintain fixed asset subledger, including monthly depreciation and review of new assets for compliance with capitalization policy.

• Work closely with A/P and A/R functions to ensure accuracy.

• Assist with month-end close close procedures including variance analysis and reporting monthly results to management

• Identify opportunities for process improvements/automation and then drive the implementation of the solution.

• Assist in development, maintenance, and compliance of accounting policies.

What you bring to the team:

• A Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting with 5-7 years of experience, private/public mix.

• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.

• Intermediate to advanced Excel skills required.

• Solid understanding of GAAP.

• Enthusiastic attitude and willingness to jump in and help out as needed.

• Flexibility to roll with the punches and growing pains of a small but fast-growing company.

• Candidates must possess excellent analytical, judgment and decision making skills with the ability to adapt to change.
