Billtrust is seeking a ScrumMaster to coach and facilitate the Scrum process for one or more teams in our Denver office. You are communicative, engaged and possess strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to foster great collaboration with teams and across our organization. You will be a steward and custodian of the Scrum process, possess a servant-leader style, and be willing to roll up your sleeves to support the team to ensure that objectives are achieved. This is a challenging environment that requires a ScrumMaster with passion for building high-performing teams, maintaining velocity, removing impediments and who has deep experience in fostering team engagement, ownership and accountability.
- Ensure lean Agile concepts and principles are adhered to, be a voice of reason and make the tough calls in demanding situations
- Support teams in execution of sprints resulting in successful story completion and increased velocity
- Record and address impediments and retrospective action items in a timely manner
- Partner with the product manager and tech lead to help achieve team alignment
- Facilitate Scrum meetings and agendas – Able to manage to a time box and parking lot for off agenda topics
- Support healthy communication on assigned teams resulting in effective daily meetings
- Coordinate inter-team dependencies resulting in success epics
- Maintain sprint backlog and velocity metrics
- Facilitate or participate in the Scrum of Scrums
- Collaborate with other teams and Scrum Masters to coordinate work, manage dependencies and improve the environment for Agile development
- Coach the teams and organization on the Scrum process
- Lead teams to self-organization and continuous improvement to sustain Agility
- Ensure that accurate and up-to-date metrics are maintained
- Three plus years of experience as a Scrum Master and an ability to thrive in a fast-paced, product-centric environment
- Demonstrated ability to foster team engagement, ownership and accountability
- Strong ability to coordinate inter-team dependencies resulting in successful epics
- Proven ability to interface with internal and external clients to manage expectations and deadlines; i.e. scheduling, communication, escalation and risk analysis
- Ability to navigate teams as we evolve in our Agile “growth period”
- Strong communication, organization and coordination skills, with the ability to effectively handle multiple complex issues simultaneously
- Experience in a SaaS, software, product-centric or payments business nice-to-have
- Current Scrum Master certification (CSM) preferred
- Bachelor degree in Computer Science, MISs, Business, or related field (or equivalent experience)
