You and this position.  The School Partnerships Manager role at Schoolrunner is about school and district new customer acquisition. In this “sales hunter” role, you will execute on a sales territory management strategy and follow a dedicated sales methodology to achieve sales goals.  To help provide the best experience possible for our prospective customers, you will analyze a customer’s needs and manage them through the process of evaluating Schoolrunner.  The best candidates for the role are enthusiastic, confident, competitive, and dedicated individuals who will learn from adversity and persevere. 

Things you might do on a given day

  • Identify and organize lead lists for sales prospecting

  • Conduct outreach calls and qualify leads via 30+ daily dials

  • Create and execute marketing activity plans including calls, emails, conferences, lunch and learns.  

  • Meet with prospective customers to qualify them for budget, authority, need, and timeline

  • Lead product demonstration meetings with qualified prospects

  • Generate proposals and close new customers

  • Work with our School Happiness Coordinators and product team to prepare customers for a successful implementation, ensure their success and improve the Schoolrunner platform

  • Ensure our CRM is up-to-date and accurate

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of B2B Outside Sales experience focused on prospecting and new customer acquisition in a SaaS environment (this is a hunting role)

  • Education sales experience is a major plus

  • Travel 50% of the time required to manage the sales territory

  • SaaS/Cloud based computing and/or technology sales experience needed

  • Cold calling & territory management experience

  • Excellent communication skills and the confidence to speak effectively with a range of business leaders as you introduce, demonstrate, and solve some of the key data use issues in educational organizations

  • Proven work ethic, a commitment to personal development and an attitude of self-motivation

  • Demonstrable knowledge of SaaS/Software License business model

  • Formal training and/or applied experience in sales methodologies such as Solution, Sandler, SPIN, Miller Heiman

  • Proven experience closing sales contracts between $5,000 and $50,000 in annual revenue

  • CRM know-how - At least 2 years of experience working with Salesforce.com, Close.io or another similar CRM in a data-centric role

  • Thoroughness - Attention to detail is important for success in the role

  • Tech savvy – it’ll be helpful if you can learn new tools quickly

  • Enjoy removing roadblocks and solving problems

 Preferred qualifications

  • Understanding of education and training as a business

  • Previous experience in technology customer success teams a plus

  • Knowledge of educational technology

  • Degree in Business Management, Communications, Marketing, Entrepreneurship or Public Relations preferred

Charlie Coglianese
Charlie is the Founder and Chief Data Wizard for Schoolrunner and wears multiple hats in leading Schoolrunner.  One important hat is spending time in a sales role focusing on traditional K12 school districts and charter schools.  He built the core technology for Schoolrunner and has led our engineering efforts, so he knows the product inside and out.  He’s also successfully sold dozens of customers and helped them achieve success in using the platform.  You will be working directly with Charlie.
