  • The Sales Engineer is the primary technical resource for the Commercial Direct and Channel field sales teams. He / She is works in conjunction with the sales team as the key technical advisor and product advocate for our products internally as well as with the potential end customer and channel partners. The ideal candidate must be able to articulate geospatial technology and product positioning to both business and technical users. They must also be able to identify all technical issues of assigned accounts to assure complete customer satisfaction through all stages of the sales process. They must provide technical credibility within the customer technical evaluation team and possess strong presentation skills and be able to communicate professionally in written responses to emails, RFPs, and when submitting reports.

    Responsibilities

    • Provide pre-sales technical assistance and product education
    • Develop and present technical presentations and demonstrations of how our products/services will meet customers’ needs
    • Interact directly with customers and their technical experts to review, understand and gather requirements
    • Recommend product solutions and services to large/complex opportunities
    • Assist to Sell/Upsell DG products/solutions to customers and their technical experts
    • Convey customer technical requirements to DG Internal teams
    • Help in the design/development of custom made products/solutions
    • Facilitate Archive Searches and Tasking Requests for sales and direct customers
    • Support customer/marketing Events
    • Provide weekly summary of activities

    Required Qualifications

    • Expert knowledge of geospatial products and solutions
    • Willing to travel extensively at least 50% of time
    • Bachelor’s degree or advanced degree in Geographic Information Systems, Geography, Remote Sensing, or Geodesy, 3-5 years of experience

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Excellent communication skills
    • Strong analytical skills
    • Effective interpersonal/negotiation skills
    • Ability to work independently
    • Effective execution skills
