DESCRIPTION

Top Hat is looking for a Software Sales Engineer to work amongst our amazing sales team. As a Sales Engineer, you will be a key partner and technical advisor supporting internal and external customers from presale to post sale. You will be a Top Hat Guru and have technical insight into all of Top Hat’s products, features, functionality & integrations, and help convert our internal sales teams, prospective or current customers into rockstars!

ABOUT THE GIG:

  • You will support the sales team, run in-person meetings, as well as remotely deliver presentations to prospective customers
  • You will collaborate with the sales and implementation teams to respond to RFPs
  • You will partner with the sales team to help understand prospective customers’ technical needs (integrations, functionality etc.) and ensure that Top Hat is the right fit to provide a solution to customer pain points.
  • You will collaborate with Sales & Customer Success teams to ensure a smooth roll out of campus wide implementation & usage.
  • You will create and provide periodic reports and analytics on usage to current customers.
  • You will work primarily with the platforms widely used in educational technology including: LMS (such as Canvas, Blackboard, Brightspace, Moodle & Sakai to name a few), Single sign-on providers, SIS
  • You will work with deal cycles that typically can take from 4 to 18 months

 

ABOUT YOU:

  • You are cool as a cucumber and are no stranger to high volume and high pressure situations, you have killer time management skills and know how to prioritize tasks.
  • You are a smooth operator and master communicator. You have fantastic written and verbal communication skills. You make complex tasks a cinch to understand and can communicate with sales reps and technical administration teams in universities alike.
  • You have previously worked with tools like JIRA, Salesforce & Tableau and can navigate through them like a pro
  • You have three to five years of experience working as a Sales Engineer in a SaaS background or have previously worked in  a similar capacity in the Education Technology space.
  • You always have the best interest of your customers in mind. You have worked in a customer-focused role before (B2B), offering technical solutions to complicated problems.
  • You've probably worked at a startup before and are excited to join a company that's growing fast! You proactively take on tasks that are outside your core function for the good of the company, and can work independently as well as with a team.
