 Hi. It’s Kendra (again). The Craftsy People Team is looking to add a team member to lead and drive our recruiting efforts. Have you ever thought that recruiting is a process and function that needs some significant updating? We think so. Is it hard to overhaul a process while you’re growing fast and hiring all the time? Yes, indeed. At the same time, we know there is room for us to get better. We want to experiment throughout the recruiting process and candidate experience – from sourcing and interviewing through the offer stage and up until our new team member walks through our door so that we can continue to get results no matter what the role and independent of external influencing factors.
 
Over the last couple years, we’ve built out our recruiting process, changed it a few times, tested new things (with varying degrees of success…) and hired the team that’s working hard (and smartly - yep, we’ll admit it, we think our team is something special) to help Craftsy achieve our goals. There is a solid and working foundation in place and a committed group of people across the company who help us do what we love to do so worry not, you’re stepping in to refine, optimize, innovate and elevate, not to clean up a mess.
 
It’s hard to convey in words what you’ll do every day, but here is a sample:
  • Work with people across the company and specifically with Kendra, Ian, Justin, Megan and Grace – recruiting may be your focus but Craftsy is your team
  • Give your best regardless of the task at hand…there is no “level” assigned to the work on our team
  • Source strategically and with a high-touch personal approach regardless of the channel
  • Uncover elements of our process that require modernization & innovation and design, implement and manage the changes through to success
  • Assess candidates with a laser focus on aligning their talent with our opportunities then help our team do the same – this may mean changing our interview dynamic, updating tools & resources and engaging the team in relevant and customized training and development
  • Recognize that getting candidates through the funnel is only part of the role – integrating our brand, monitoring our internal and external presence and representing Craftsy in the best light within and outside our walls is just as essential
  • Show that you are a credible expert on relevant recruiting topics and commit to learning if you have gaps
  • Demonstrate great judgment – that will get you most of the way and we have resources to help when it doesn’t
  • Come in and work smart, hard or whatever way it takes to get the right results
  • Learn about our business, customers and teams, we have the feeling you’ll like what you find out
  • Show up on our Instagram and Twitter every now and then as you connect to our team and company culture
Several years of experience and expertise within the recruiting function is desirable, and we’re also open to business leaders who have helped hire lots of people in fast growth technology companies and who want to take their career in a people focused direction. The exact level and title of the role will depend on the candidate's experience and alignment within the Craftsy team. Either way, we’ll look for someone who can demonstrate all the skills necessary to fulfill the elements of this role at a high level of performance. We're on the second floor of the Denver Place North Tower building, conveniently located in downtown Denver's Central Business District.
