A/R Specialist

Core Functions:
Process daily receipts ensuring prompt and accurate posting of payments to customer accounts; credit card, checks, lockbox, ACH, and wire payments
Communicate with customers via phone and email regarding past due balances and payment questions
Ensure accurate customer account balances and reconcile account discrepancies
Partner with sales and customer service teams regarding customer billing issues
Carry out billing and reporting activities according to deadlines
Send customer invoices bi-weekly
Research credit and re-billing issues
Assist in tracking, researching, reconciling and communicating customer chargebacks
Special projects as assigned by management
Manage multiple priorities
Ability to learn and apply new technologies
Other duties may be assigned to meet business needs
Reports directly to the Assistant Controller
Required Qualifications:
3+ years previous experience in Accounts Receivable
Technically savvy with systems in general and comfortable with accounting/billing software; prior experience using NetSuite preferred
Empathetic approach to troubleshooting and customer service
Quick learner, willing to take initiative, and has great follow through
Strong listening skills and analytic abilities
Passion for applied learning in a fast-paced environment
Strong problem solving skills
Enthusiastic team player with a positive attitude
Exceptional interpersonal skills; thrives in a team-oriented work environment
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Proven organizational skills and attention to detail
Skilled in use of Excel spreadsheets
- Identifies opportunities for process improvements or automation
Desired Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university
