You are an experienced software quality assurance professional looking for a chance to build your skillset. You have a solid foundation of QA testing skills but seek a chance to develop further while also working on interesting projects that will challenge your problem solving and creativity. At Webroot, we are looking to hire and empower a QA Engineer to join a brand new team within our fast-paced consumer business unit. As our QA Engineer based in Broomfield, CO, you will work on a new team responsible for refactoring and improving existing, successful products. This requires a QA Engineer who is intelligent, forward thinking and able to successfully communicate and navigate various groups with Webroot. The successful QA Engineer will perform a variety of tasks including: agile testing of applications that run on the Windows and Mac OS X operating systems; integration testing of browser add-ons and extensions delivered through the desktop application; integration testing of web applications that interact with a desktop application; developing and executing manual test cases; reporting defects; investigating and reproducing problems reported by users; and  assisting with the design of automation test frameworks with an open source framework and executing automated test scripts. In this job you will:

  • Develops analytical tools to assure the early identification of potential problems with packaging, processes, and product quality and reliability.
  • May propose changes to improve system and process reliability.
  • Developing, maintaining and executing both black-box and gray-box test cases.
  • Estimating testing task based on agile stories.
  • Developing automated test scripts for regression test automation.
  • Documenting defects and retesting defect fixes.
  • Documenting and executing a suite of regression tests.

You bring to the table:

  • 3+ years of software testing experience
  • 1+ years of experience testing Desktop or Thick-client applications that run as Windows or Mac OSX Applications (applications running on the OS, not web applications running through a browser).
  • 1+ years of experience developing and maintaining scripts for automated regression tests or load testing.
  • 2+ years of experience performing agile testing tasks as part of a team practicing iterative development methodology.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field
  • Proven ability to work within a team environment
  • Strong verbal and written communications skills. Strong speaking and presentation skills
  • Strong analytical skills; demonstrated problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to think creatively, work collaboratively and effectively plan and make decisions in a fast-changing environment, at times with limited information or direction; and an innovative mindset
  • Effective skills in influence and negotiation
  • Experience partnering with Development Teams, Customer/Technical Support, as well as Product & Project Management and others, cross functionally to deliver the highest quality solutions. (Collaboration that spans multiple teams distributed across multiple locations)
