Production/Dev Ops Engineer
To build on Tendril’s success, we need to scale our Production Operations processes. You will help formulate our growth plan, evaluate and deploy new technologies, and ensure that our infrastructure and tools can support our fast-paced growth.

What You’ll Do:
  • You will perform and analyze our current operational processes, then update, improve and automate them.
  • You will work hands on with AWS and our current code base, to investigate and implement new processes.
  • You will utilize business intelligence tools (Hadoop) to research data anomalies and production results.
  • Initially, this role will involve:
  • Learning how to run a Home Energy Report production process from start to finish
  • Perform daily operational tasks to get the product out the door
  • Create tools focusing on efficiency and repeatable process for our production team and customers
  • Use data analysis to investigate and recommend/build appropriate tools and technologies for efficiency and accuracy benefits as it relates to customer satisfaction

What You Bring to Tendril:

  • You’re service-oriented and enjoy working to make operational processes as painless as possible.
  • A team player attitude; you are okay with occasionally working off hours that may include evenings and weekends when a production schedule needs require it – with comparable typical work hour time off to offset this effort.
  • You’ve had experience with:
  • Performing operational tasks daily to get the product out the door – much like bill cycle billing processes
  • Building automation tools for Operational procedures, reporting and QA/Testing of production processes
  • Database query experience
  • Strong scripting experience (Perl, Linux) and data analytics skills (SQL; big data tools)
  • Working experience in coding languages JAVA, RUBY, Python and PIG
  • Experience building operational processes within a billing organization
  • Experienced success in an environment where change and scalability is imperative

Bonus Points:
  • You’re self-motivated and able to work independently and/or in small teams.
  • You are fearless in the face of massive technical challenges.
  • You’ve got experience with continuous integration, log collection and analysis, builds, and performance monitoring.
  • PostgreSQL database query and administrator experience
  • You’ve managed server and app deployments.
  • You have experience with Docker, Hadoop, RDS and AWS.
