Craftsy’s Production Team is looking for a Production Editor to join our team! Our Production Editor must be an extremely organized and versatile video editor who can live-switch footage on set and edit core instructional content. We’re looking for someone with a proven track record of learning quickly and adapting to a fast changing work environment. It’s critical that our Production Editor possess the ability to take direction and run with it and have the drive to contribute ideas and collaborate in a group.
Our production editors wear many hats in varying stages of production and post-production. Some weeks will be spent on set, while others are spent in the offices working on multiple projects a day. We’re looking for candidates who can own projects and take action when needed. Flexibility and a sense of humor are a necessity in this fast-paced, startup environment. If you need to know exactly what you’re going to be doing on any given day, this is not the job for you.

As our Production Editor, you will:
- Setup and operate a live multi-cam switcher for course production
- Editing of courses after photography wraps
- Keep thorough cut notes on set to communicate with other members of post production
- Organize, log, label and upload all footage and stills to the server at the end of each shoot day
- Work with the crew to facilitate the production of courses
- Continuing post-production through stages of review, color correction, audio mixing, motion graphics, and finishing
Your background and experience will likely include, but is not necessarily limited to the following:
- Minimum two years experience editing commercial video projects for broadcast or internet
- Expert in Premiere, Final Cut or equivalent non-linear editing software
- Experience with After Effects, Photoshop and Illustrator
- Proficient in sound editing, mixing and equalization
- Proficient in basic three-way color correction within non-linear editing systems
- Experience with or eagerness to learn live switching
- Ability to cut efficiently with a keen and meticulous eye for quality
- Familiarity with on-set procedures and production methods
- Comfortable on location indoors, outdoors and in our studio
- Travel (as much as eight days per month)
- Extremely well organized, patient and adaptable
- Ability to work 50+ hours/week
The Ideal Candidate:
- Has motion graphics or visual effects experience (keying, rotoscoping, motion tracking, etc.)
- Ability to work in a professional office environment
- Has a sense of humor and plays well with others
