How you'll make an impact

This role will be responsible for developing the Partner Channel product priorities for the Americas, which includes our customer base of CPAs, CAs, Accounting Professionals & Bookkeepers. You will be responsible for researching product needs and future product innovation based on a customer-centric approach, balanced by being well-researched on the future trends of the accounting profession and technology to deliver innovative solutions to the customers of the Partner Channel. Based on research and your accounting industry experience, you will partner with the Xero Americas Product team to define the product needs and prioritize the requirements and the investment necessary. Additionally, you will lead quality assurance efforts to test features in the Xero product, as well as, 3rd party integrations, for proper accounting treatment.
How you'll contribute to the business

The Xero Partner Program touches all parts of the customer journey. By ensuring a seamless and delightful execution of benefits, you help accelerate adoption and success of Xero cloud accounting by modern small business advisors.

What you'll do

  • Assist with the facilitation of the local product prioritization process, ensuring effective engagement from stakeholders and communicate the resulting development priorities to Product Management.
  • Travel to customers to evaluate how they are currently performing their accounting procedures and determine how Xero can innovate and help with technology.
  • Document finding into specifications that will be used as the foundation of the development and testing phases.
  • Work with Product Marketing and Education to prepare sales readiness materials, webinars and other communication to assist.
  • Assist with the analysis of strategic issues such as product pricing, competitive analysis, product deficiency, strategic deficiency, potential acquisition targets, development locations and other aspects of the business that the Product Team should consider.
  • Coordinate roadmap requirements to ensure design and analysis effort is completed with a development timeframe in mind and balanced with GTM objectives.
  • Perform testing on third party integrations with Xero to ensure proper accounting is reflected in the connections and alert stakeholders of any deficiencies so its know before it goes to market.
  • Work closely with Developers and QA to ensure they have correctly interpreted specifications by testing with customers and ensuring features reflect proper accounting principles for the Americas.

  • Accounting standards and treatment are properly reflected in product and with third party integrations
What you'll bring with you

Critical competencies
  • Understanding of product development and cloud accounting software
  • Clear verbal and written communication skills
  • Collaborative, can successfully work in cross-functional teams
  • Knowledge of the accounting profession and future trends
Experience
  • 5-7 years of accounting industry experience
  • Cloud technology domain expertise
  • Knowledge of Tax is a plus
  • Product management, development or research experience with a focus on the customer
