Job Description

As a Product Operations Manager (POM), you will be an instrumental part in driving team success by removing impediments to progress and managing Agile best practices. Whether measuring & driving agility within a team, identifying and managing cross-team dependencies, or holding Product Management accountable for effective sprint planning and definition, you will ensure our product delivery teams are high functioning and our Agile framework is healthy as teams mature in their roles.

Responsibilities

  • Embed with Engineering teams to drive product delivery for 1-3 product lines, including:
    • Partnering with Engineering Directors or Team Leads to facilitate Scrum ceremonies
    • Partnering with Team Leads to hold the team accountable to define and meet sprint commitments
    • Driving collaboration between Product and Engineering by providing Agile coaching to teams and/or individuals in the adoption and improvement of Agile methods and practices
    • Ensure key team metrics are in place and managed for continual improvement
    • Facilitate, inspect & adapt practices at the team level
    • Managing cross-team dependencies for product delivery to ensure a timely release of complete features
    • Holding Product Managers and Engineering leadership accountable to complete pre-planning for each sprint and continually groom the product backlog
    • Helping to facilitate team participation in quarterly planning
  • Partner with the Engineering Directors & Product Managers to continually implement, prune, and communicate on what Agile means at Sovrn
    • Identify training required to effectively implement Sovrn’s Agile approach and advocate for and/or provide that training
  • Hold Product Managers accountable to adopt Sovrn’s Product Management Framework
  • Manage processes for Product Managers to internally publish and celebrate product releases

Requirements

  • Experience transitioning teams from waterfall to Agile preferred
  • Certification in Agile/Scrum preferred
  • Drive to deliver great products
  • A servant leader and skilled influencer
  • Detail-oriented & well organized
  • Passion for refining and improving processes
  • A hunger to learn and ability to navigate ambiguity
  • Experience with agile practices (Scrum, Lean, DevOps, Kanban, SAFe)
  • 1- 3 years experience in Engineering, Project Management, or some other applicable area
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Communication, Computer Science, Business, or a related field; or equivalent experience
