Webroot is seeking an experienced Product Marketing Manager to help us define and market cloud-based security services and expand our presence in the OEM and IoT segments. This is a rare opportunity to put your mark on an established and growing OEM services business, as well as launch next generation security solutions for the rapidly emerging Internet of Things market. For this highly visible and influential position, we want a marketing superstar to become a product expert to define the direction and positioning of OEM and IoT solutions, drive market and competitive analysis, convey customer viewpoints back to the product team, and contribute to marketing strategy. As our Product Marketing Manager, based in Broomfield, CO, you will analyze and recommend high potential opportunities, covering competitive analysis, feature requirements, pricing development, and messaging.  In addition, you must be passionate about marketing technology products and services, highly collaborative, and results driven.  You will work with various internal teams to identify target audiences, positioning, segment-specific message/content to the market, voice and critical business issues, and determine the best methods to communicate in a compelling manner to the intended audiences. Serving as a translator who can translate technical specifications to customer benefits, communicating effectively when explaining technology is absolutely necessary.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Go-to-Market Strategy- Partner with appropriate stake-holders, including product management, sales, and other marketing teams on go-to-market plans and execution for OEM and IoT focused security solutions.  Elements of this strategy work will include mapping target customers and buying behavior to marketing programs, identifying and prioritizing customer pain points with Webroot’s differentiators, and pricing strategy
  • Sales and Marketing Enablement- Develop and deliver content for sales and OEM partner training, assist in development of sales tools and marketing assets such as presentations and whitepapers, and serve as a key partner to the sales and marketing teams to drive business growth
  • Product Messaging/Positioning- Develop/update the “story” as well as the positioning and messaging for OEM and IoT solutions. Create core messaging documents to drive marketing program execution, and review deliverables to ensure content is on message
  • Competitive Analysis- Closely monitor marketplace for competitive moves. Identify competitive differentiation, and work with the global Sales and Marketing teams to communicate advantages through development competitive matrices, battle-cards, and other tools
  • Pricing- Work cross-functionally to help develop pricing strategies, understand competitive price positioning, and ensure Webroot is positioned to achieve its business objectives
  • Evangelism- As a key market and product expert, you will develop and deliver product presentations, webinars, and briefings to partner, industry analysts, and press audiences.  You must be able to communicate an understanding of the challenges facing IT security executives, explain technical functionally to both technical experts and novices, and clearly articulate Webroot’s business value
  • Market Requirements- Partnering with Product Management, identify and champion customer/market requirements within the product roadmap planning process
  • Travel requirement of 25-30%

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelors degree in a business or technical discipline required; MBA strongly preferred
  • 4-6 years of business experience, with 5 years of strong product marketing or product management experience with progressively increasing responsibilities
  • Must have significant experience in analyzing market conditions and developing go-to-market plans
  • Must have excellent writing skills and a strong ability to translate technical advantages into customer benefits
  • Prior industry experience in enterprise-class technology products. Security and software-as-a-service industry experience is strongly preferred
  • Highly collaborative and able to partner effectively with both technical and field sales teams
  • Must be able to work both at a strategic and tactical level in order to get the job done
  • Must possess a passion for customers, and unflinching desire to exceed their expectations
  • Excellent organizational, presentation and writing skills and ability to successfully interact across functions at all levels of an organization and with customers
  • Must be a self-starter with proven ability to take initiative as well as balance competing priorities
  • Must have excellent follow-through, be able to work with minimal direction, and balance the requirements of multiple stakeholders within an organization
  • Must be highly agile and enjoy working in an extremely fast-paced environment
