The Role

We’re looking for a Product Manager to lead our API platform development and are open to fielding different levels of the role from PM up to Director based on experience. The role will have responsibility over all aspects of engagement with developers from access control to the foundational structure of the services, the methods, and other technical specifications. It will also have purview over the developer documentation and act as an interface or conduit to the developer community that uses the FullContact platform every day. This position is fulltime and located in our Denver, CO office.

Responsibilities

As our API Product Manager, you will be responsible for defining and executing the product roadmap for our API platform. The lion’s share of your time will be spent driving and organizing software development across the teams. You’ll be making strategic decisions about the direction and implementation of the platform. You will also be responsible for clarifying the vision of your roadmap and managing the product development lifecycle while developing requirements and working closely with engineering to build the next great feature or product. In that effort, you will have support from inside the Product organization to drive early adoption and derive signals from the market. And, once products are built, you will have support from Marketing to enable Sales to bring the products to market at scale.

Responsibilities include:

  • Understand and analyze business initiatives, current products, and customer needs to develop a product roadmap for the API ecosystem
  • Monitor market trends and new technology that could impact customers or the competitive landscape
  • Develop and document functional and business specifications and communicate requirements to engineering team
  • Oversee technical specifications and documentation for the customer base
  • Determine when to build new, rebuild, reposition, market, or maintain existing products to drive revenue
  • Define roll-out strategy and partner with engineering team to drive product execution to success
  • Partner with Product Marketing, Sales, and Account Management to ensure product features and benefits are clearly communicated to customers for a successful go to market strategy

Requirements

  • 5+ yrs experience in a SaaS software Product Management role
  • Tech savvy… Routinely plays with APIs (curl, Postman, etc.)
  • Can test internal and external APIs to surface bugs and/or nuances
  • Can build, design and ultimately define new APIs/features
  • A background in engineering (BS or MS in Computer Science, EE, or commensurate experience is preferred but not required)
  • You can think strategically while also being action-oriented to deliver high quality results
  • You know that what a product doesn’t do is as important as what it does do
  • Comfort leading and communicating technical requirements to software engineers
  • Excellent written and oral communications skills and presentation skills, along with an ability to think strategically about customer needs and product positioning
  • Experience planning/building and executing product roadmaps in an agile environment
  • Superior business and analytical skills, both quantitative and qualitative; a problem solver who is able to make smart simplifying assumptions
