As a Principal Data Scientist you’ll be developing cutting edge statistical methodology in a high performance computing environment. This requires collaborating with researchers, software engineers, and external partners to understand relevant business needs, optimize performance, and provide accurate first-in-industry techniques to quantify media effectiveness.

 

Primary responsibilities will include:

  • Providing thought leadership in the development of new statistical methodology.
  • Effectively communicating with Product Management, Engineering, and senior business leaders to facilitate broader analytics understanding.
  • Researching and prototyping new causal and non-causal inference methodology for measuring campaign effectiveness. For example,
    • Building a complex modeling frameworks to explain trends and predict outcomes.
    • Developing post-hoc causal inference measurement solutions.
  • Identifying opportunities for improvement across our digital and offline marketing ecosystem.
  • Serving as a resource for other data scientists as methodology is developed and deployed.


Skills and qualifications:

Here’s a summary of the skills that will provide success in this position:

  • MS in Statistics, Biostatistics or related field with 7+ years of experience or a PhD in Statistics with 3-5 years experience.
  • 5+ years experience working with ‘big data’. Marketing analytics and causal inference experience is a big plus.
  • Expertise with a statistical analysis software package (R or Python).
  • Experience with other big data tools (SQL, Hive, Hadoop, etc.).
  • The desire to continually learn and test your own boundaries.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast paced, and dynamic work environment.
  • Exceptional problem solving skills with unrelenting focus on practical business implications.
