Key Areas of Responsibilities:

• Develop, maintain and support Postgres databases to support the WFX team.
• Skilled in organizing and prioritizing workload including development and maintenance under change management.
• Successful operational installation of assigned projects.
• Provide database technical expertise and direction for development team members and external contacts.
• Develop new processes and modify existing processes including problem ticket research and resolution.
• Produce implementation plans and tasks for small project installation and database fixes.
• Work within a cross functional Agile team to develop new components in a highly iterative fashion.  Involves close collaboration with product owners, QA, and operational teams.
• Work effectively with client support and implementation partners to resolve application issues.
• Actively participate in project and team meetings.
• The top performers in this group pay close attention to detail, understand the need for in-depth testing.
• Perform under minimal supervision on significantly complex assignments. 
• No direct/indirect supervision of other team members.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or a technically related field or equivalent experience.
• 3-5 years of experience in Postgres database development.
• Experience working in a team environment and mentoring co-workers as needed.
• Technical experience in database design and data modeling.
• Unit Testing skills in a large DB environment.
• Database user administration and data security.
• Technical knowledge in software development methodologies and design.
• Excellent analytical and problem solving skills.
• Experience working with Microsoft development tools and a desire to learn more.
• Key skill requirements for this role include: Linux, ksh scripting, Postgres, Postgres utilities, PostgreSQL, and database performance concepts with emphasis on transform and load and parallel processing.
• Beneficial skills include: Postgres Backup/Recovery and Performance Tuning, Perl, Amazon RDS for PostgreSQL.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills as well as interpersonal skills to communicate database concepts clearly to developers and client support personnel.
