Summary
The Platform Product Marketing Manager is responsible for developing a series of marketing messages that highlight the value propositions that can be delivered by DigitalGlobe’s Platform product offerings. This role requires technical understanding of a range of geospatial concepts (including remote sensing and spatial analysis) and modern technology approaches such as cloud computing and machine learning. Additionally, this role requires strong communication skills via a variety of means including written communication, presentation skills and interpersonal communication with audiences both internal and external to DigitalGlobe. A team player with significant hustle and a desire to deliver high impact marketing messages is a must. This position is based in Westminster, CO.

The DigitalGlobe GBDX platform is designed to extract valuable data and insight from satellite imagery for a multiplicity of use cases in industry and government. Utilizing the latest techniques in computer vision and machine learning, GBDX is on the cutting edge of the big data revolution.

Key Areas of Responsibility

  • Develop a full and comprehensive understanding of the features and benefits of our core products including GBDX, Spatial On Demand and MapsAPI
  • Collaborate with Sales, Business Development and Sales Engineering to understand our customer segments, their needs and what influences their buying decisions
  • Collaborate with Product Management and Product Engineering to understand existing and developing product specifications for market validation and readiness
  • Articulate a succinct and impactful set of value proposition statements that address our target customer segments and their  challenges that need to be solved
  • Create product content in the form of written documents and technical presentation material (screen shots, sample outputs, etc.) that feed into  sales enablement training and outbound marketing material
  • Collaborate with Product Management to support the development of and iteration on pricing strategies
  • Participate in the capture and delivery of market research and customer feedback to the product team
  • Partner closely with the outbound marketing team to deliver the necessary material for digital marketing campaigns
  • Represent the Platform business unit at industry events as a technical resource who can capture customer interest and articulate key value propositions for specific industry verticals
  • Participate in the development of overall marketing strategy

Basic Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • 5 to 8 years professional background, preferably in customer-facing roles within premier, global organizations.
  • Demonstrated experience in representing technical concepts and topics through a variety of communication channels. 

Preferred Skills & Experience

  • Demonstrated understanding of remote sensing and spatial analysis concepts
  • Experience working closely with cross-functional groups such as, Marketing Communications, Demand Generation, Product Management and Sales/Business Development to achieve company goals & objectives
  • A background in technical support, technical marketing, sales engineering or product management is preferred
  • Ability to perform an analysis of the needs of target verticals, their buying patterns and the primary influencers that drive decisions
  • Ability to work cross-functionally to drive results, recommend approaches to solving complex customer issues, and be a “Voice of the Customer” to the Product organization
  • Strong written communication skills and demonstrated efficiency and effectiveness in creating presentation materials, technical documentation, sales-enablement material (i.e. demo materials) and whitepapers that are consumed by audiences both technical and non-technical
  • Demonstrated experience presenting technical concepts to technical and non-technical audiences
  • Ability to work in an unstructured environment and to establish and achieve both tactical and longer-term goals, with minimal oversight from supervisor.  Effectively operates with little instruction on day-to-day work, and only general instructions on new assignments
  • Strong organization and project management skills

Location and Travel:

This position is Westminster, Colorado-based, but the candidate must have the ability to travel – sometimes internationally – on a routine basis (~ 20%).
