Craftsy is seeking a senior or mid-level backend platform engineer to join our amazing team in delivery of a unique inspirational, shopping and learning experience to millions of raving fans. Craftsy is providing an opportunity to work on a large scale development effort, building technologies from the ground up, rather than working on somebody else’s legacy code. We are delivering our next generation of customer experience to our amazing users and we want you to be a part of it.
In this role, you will:
- Work closely with cross-functional technology team members (UX, Product, Front End, DevOps).
- Design, develop and deploy against our service based architecture and API Gateway using Java 8 and reactive programming.
- Forecast approximate launch dates and communicate changes as they arise
- Quickly acquire deep subject matter expertise and broad understanding of the business and and architecture.
- Develop, review and deploy at a rapid pace, receiving business and customer feedback within days.
- Work with the Hashi corp stack (Consul, Vagrant, Packer, Terraform) for development and deployment.
Your background and skillset likely includes:
- Proven ability to coordinate cross-functional teams to successfully complete complex technical projects.
- Demonstrated impact on your engineering organization with a track record of innovation and hard work.
- Familiarity and experience with a variety of software development approaches (Scrum, XP, Kanban, etc.)
- 2+ years full-time Java development
We’d be thrilled if you also had:
- Familiarity with all sides of an ecommerce website, including operations and backend systems.
- Knowledge of technology across the stack and/or deployment systems (Node.js, React.js, Jenkins, AWS, Algolia, Postgres).
- Experience with distributed system design, REST-based service boundaries or message-based architectures.
