Job Description


As an Operations Support Engineer, Team Lead you will be interacting with all departments within the company to solve technical issues and develop software solutions for identified problems and enhancements. You will be helping train and coach other Operations Engineers while providing a level of escalation within the team. 

Responsibilities



  • Leads the Operations Engineering efforts of the 24x7 production environment
  • Coach internal and external users to clearly document problems and enhancements
  • Strategizes different procedures that can help create more efficient process when dealing with publisher’s obstacles
  • A subject matter expert for any escalations for troubleshooting, defect and enhancement reporting for the company's products and services
  • Provides final level of escalation to team prior to engaging Engineering resources
  • Sharing best practices on all the critical components for any escalations for troubleshooting, defect and enhancement reporting for the company's products and services
  • Develop, design and implement support solutions to meet technological needs and ensure it is distributed appropriately to the rest of the team
  • Develops and houses support documents, FAQs and knowledge-base articles easily accessible to team
  • Works cross functionally to ensure smooth delivery of product to publisher
  • Work with the development team to ensure modifications are incorporated into the existing code base
  • Evaluates time spent for support related issues and determines ways to decrease time for these issues

 Requirements

  • 2+ years of Support Engineer / Engineering experience
  • Knowledge of object-oriented programming with Java and/or php
  • Team-oriented skills including SCM, Revision Control, Defect tracking, and collaboration tools
  • Comfortable working in a small-team, fast-paced, start-up environment
  • Ability to deliver well-tested modules
  • Ability to write clean, well commented, modular code
  • BS in C.S. or related degree (or equivalent experience)
  • 6+ months experience with one or more of the following programming languages: Java, Perl, Python, Apache/PHP, or JavaScript
  • 6+ months experience with SQL and database structures
  • 6+ months experience in Unix/Linux environments
  • 6+ months experience developing distributed applications and multi threaded applications
  • Previous experience, coaching or leading teams
