Job Description
As an Operations Support Engineer you are responsible for working directly with Sovrn's publishers and sales teams to identify unwanted creative. This role will ensure that proposed ads meet Sovrn’s creative policies, and that the source of said ads is identified and blocked. This position works closely with the Ad Operations and Publisher Advocate Teams requiring strong written and verbal communications skills.
Responsibilities
- Work directly with Sovrn publishers, Ad Operations, and sales teams to identify the source of unwanted creatives
- Manage escalated customer support issues on a daily basis to include isolation, diagnoses, and real time resolution when possible
- Work directly with the demand team to ensure buying partners are adhering to sovrn ad creative policies
- Become the subject matter expert on latest “malvertising” trends in the online advertising ecosystem
- Develop a solution with engineering that allows whitelisting of ad creatives for sensitive publishers
- Create comprehensive documentation which outlines exactly what each demand partner requires to remove a campaign, advertiser, buyer publisher advertising chain
- Develop customer facing tools such as widgets and aps that will assist our publishers in identifying problematic creative
- Coordinate with Quality Assurance, Engineering, Data, and Product teams to provide assistance in identifying, reporting and resolving customer-impacting product issues
- Develop internal facing process that sovrn employees can leverage to quickly identify the demand partner responsible for serving unwanted creative
Qualifications
- Experience in Internet technologies such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, web servers, and other internet/networking-related protocols
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to collaborate cross-functionally and coordinate directly with customers
- Must be capable of reading, debugging, JavaScript, including DOM manipulation
- Understanding of HTTP including headers, cache control, status codes
- Experience with Internet programming and debugging
- Familiar with common browser-based debugging tools (Chrome Developer Tools, FireBug)
- Fundamental knowledge of TCP/IP networking
- Experience with relational databases, including MySQL to include ability to write SQL queries
