About Us:
Walkthrough replaces the time-consuming process of touring multiple properties with a simple and affordable virtual reality experience. Learn more about our team, funding, and press here: http://angellist.co/walkthroughvr

Why we need you:
We're rapidly expanding to 10-25 cities this year which means we'll be serving 1000s of customers that we don't have the systems or infrastructure to handle yet. As an example, when we were serving 1 city and 100 customers, we could route photographers and edit photos manually. At 10 cities and 1,000 customers, we just don't have the capacity to do that anymore. That's where you come in.

As our operations engineer you would be:

  • using Python, MongoDB, and AWS
  • working out of our headquarters in downtown Denver (1624 Market St. Denver, CO 80202)
  • working with Heather, our operations manager to solve the daily issues she faces as we expand to new cities
  • working with and reporting to Jeremy, our CTO, to figure out what initiatives to tackle first

Your role is to make operations run more smoothly.

Throughout your day you might:

  • build algorithms to optimize our photographers routing so we can optimize their travel time to each home
  • work with AI, Machine learning, and understanding color math to improve our photo processing algorithm
  • figure out why a string of customers credit cards are not charging
  • study photography to figure out how to improve our photo quality
  • add functionality to our scheduling system to reduce user error or help us save time at HQ with support requests
  • building out our tech infrastructure, including load balancing, running spot instances for photo processing, and managing distributed software our photographers use to upload photos

This role is one you’d probably want because:

  • being part of a company that's making an industry make a technologies leap is exciting to you
  • you want to join a rapidly growing team. 2 months ago we were a team of 4. You’ll be joining employee #11 and we expect to grow to 40+ people by the end of the year.
  • you want to work at a startup. One that's venture backed and generating revenue. We’ve averaged 50% growth in revenue over the last 7 months.
  • you think helping a company scale operations from 2-100 cities would be valuable for your career.

This is for you if:

  • People like you. You're one of those people are immediately attracted to. An infectious attitude.
  • You are independent and want to be a part of a hyper growth company.
  • You like to have fun at work and joke with your co-workers.
  • You have a routine that you stick to. I.e. Disciplined

When you work with us you can expect:

  • Salary of $60,000-$80,000/year
  • Equity options of 0.1%-0.3%
  • $1,000 towards your company computer or office furniture
  • Time off when you want it (20 days paid vacation including sick days)
  • We cover half of your Health Insurance after 2 months of employment

If you're interested, this is the application process:

  • Fill out the form below and submit your 1 minute video introducing yourself (it can be from your phone, laptop - whatever)? ------This will definitely let me get a better idea of who you are.
  • ------Here is an example of mine: https://youtu.be/9vvZBd59SxY
  • ------Please upload it to Youtube, Vimeo, or any other video hosting service and send me a link.
  • ------Show me a pencil in your video so I know that you fully read through everything.
  • ------Don't make the video longer than 1 minute.
  • ------All of this shows me you have a great attention to detail! If you miss any of these or you send me a downloadable file - I will ignore it and not respond because you did not follow directions.

  • Based off of the video, if we think there is an initial fit, you and I (Pascal) will hop on a video call to help you better understand the role and see if there is a culture fit.
  • If we’re a good fit, you’ll hop on a video call with Heather, our operations manager. You two will spend a lot of time together, so this to get to know each other and see if you'd make a great team.
  • From there you’ll hop on a video interview with Jeremy, our CTO, to review your technical chops.
  • If we’re all happy, we’ll invite you out to our Denver HQ to spend the day with us.
  • If you still like us after a couple happy hour drinks, we’d love to bring you into our family.
