Responsibilities:

  • Public clouds and cloud technologies such as Amazon AWS/EC2, Microsoft Azure and OpenStack
  • Script (Powershell, Perl, Ruby, Python, etc.) and building required automation (using standard technologies such as Salt, Puppet, OpsWorks) and tools
  • Industry standard Operating systems, Windows and LINUX
  • Contribute to the development, maintenance, and usage of deployment and task automation (OS, database services, virtual networks, or other platform services)
  • Participate on fast-paced DevOps and SysOps Engineering teams within Scrum agile processes
  • Work directly with architects and developers to create supportable designs and debug problems
  • Develop cloud infrastructure designs and implementations and guiding the process from development to operations
  • Create and deliver knowledge sharing presentations and documentation to developers and operations teams (Document system diagrams, run books, and procedures, etc.)
  • Attend and contribute in technical discussions and working groups
  • Ability to analyze and solve problems both independently or within a cross-functional team environment
  • Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and activities while maintaining a strong attention to detail
  • Participate in an on-call rotation to provide support during downtime events

Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related experience
  • Extensive knowledge or aptitude to learn both Linux and Windows operating systems; including build-out, configuration, and administration
  • Experience working on critical, highly available production systems
  • Experience with core system administration and troubleshooting for Windows and Linux (Windows 2008\20012\2012 R2, Ubuntu\Red Hat)
  • Extensive knowledge or aptitude to learn scripting languages (PowerShell, Python, Bash or similar languages)
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a larger team
  • Experience with IT compliance and risk management (e.g. security, privacy)
  • Knowledge in enterprise monitoring tools over heterogeneous environments
  • Ability to travel 15% of time domestically
  • Curious person with knowledgeable ideas and proposals
