ProtectWise is seeking a data scientist with a background in enterprise security to join its Research team. As a member of the Threat Management and Research team, you will design and implement new models and algorithms that enable our ground breaking, high fidelity network threat detection technologies. You are passionate about machine learning and time series analysis and can communicate complex topics in succinct and practical manners.
You will:
- Build out models and algorithms with functional proofs of concept
- Build automated and functional testing around features
- Work with Product Management to understand and refine features
- Work with Engineering to implement systems and services
- Be a thought leader within the wider Research and Engineering teams to solve difficult problems
- Be awesome, inquisitive, humble and willing to learn
- Ph.D. in Computer Science/Statistics/Mathematics or 5+ years of hands on machine learning and equivalent experience
- Experience developing new statistical and machine learning techniques
- Experience with time series analysis, compromised host behavior and network traffic anomalies
- Experience with knowledge discovery and data mining
- Experience with R, Matlab, and SciPy/NumPy
- Experience with Hadoop and Spark a plus
- Experience with Scala and functional programming a plus
